Directorate of FEZ “Nukus”

The Free Economic Zone “Nukus,” established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. UP-5809 dated September 4, 2019, is a universal platform with special conditions for business development and attracting investments to implement projects aimed at the development of the industrial sector of the republic.

Goals of creating the FEZ “Nukus”:

• To create favorable conditions for attracting investments to implement projects aimed at developing the industrial sector of the republic;

• To make comprehensive use of the production and resource potential of the Republic of Karakalpakstan by creating new jobs on this basis;

• To create favorable conditions for attracting direct investments into the organization of high-tech and export-oriented production based on the deep processing of mineral raw materials and agricultural resources, as well as increasing the republic’s export volumes on this basis;

• To increase the income of the population of the republic.

Functions of the FEZ “Nukus” Directorate:

• Coordination and operational management;

• Management of social and economic infrastructure;

• Preparation and conclusion of investment agreements;

• Preparation of necessary documents for state registration on a contractual basis;

• Maintaining the register of participants;

• Issuance of certificates for SEZ “Nukus” participants;

• Auctioning land plots in the SEZ territory;

• Consulting participants of the SEZ in various fields (law, marketing, accounting, etc.);

• Other actions related to the operational management of the SEZ.
